Police Recovers abducted Kupwara Woman from Rajasthan

Kupwara, Dec 03(NVI): A woman abducted by a local in north Kashmir’s Kupwara was on Tuesday successfully recovered by a police team in Rajasthan.

Briefing about the recovery, a police spokesperson said that, “In a significant event Kupwara Police successfully recovered an abducted woman and apprehended the accused from Rajasthan following a swift and diligent investigation into a kidnapping case reported earlier this month.”

“On November 20, 2024, Police Post Bazaar received a written complaint from one Manzoor Ahmad Mir, son of Ghulam Hassan Mir Doniwari Lolab stating that on Nov 12, 2024, while he and his wife were at SDH Hospital, his wife was abducted by one Asif Ahmad Bhat son of Abdul Hameed Bhat from Alchizebh Kupwara. The complainant also stated that the accused used a motorcycle bearing registration number RJ13ST 3028 to carry out the abduction,” said the Spokesperson,

“Based on the complaint, a case under FIR No. 267/2024 under relevant sections of law was registered at Police Station Kupwara, and an investigation was initiated,” reads the statement.

“During the course of the investigation, it was revealed that the accused, along with the abductee, had gone into hiding to evade arrest. Acting on this information, a dedicated police team was constituted, which successfully tracked and recovered the abducted woman from the custody of the accused in Rajasthan. The accused was immediately taken into custody.”

“The accused has been brought back to Kupwara, and further investigation into the case is ongoing. Kupwara Police reaffirms its commitment to ensuring the safety and security of its citizens and taking prompt action against any criminal activity,” concludes the statement. (News Vibes of India)
