Rajouri, July 22 (NVI): The Rajouri-Thanamandi road was blocked after a landslide at Fatehpur in Jammu and Kashmir’s Rajouri district on Wednesday, while another road in the Gambhir Mughalan area of Manjakote was damaged due to heavy rainfall, officials said.
They said debris triggered by intermittent rain blocked the Rajouri-Thanamandi road at Fatehpur, forcing suspension of vehicular movement on the route.
Officials said continuous rainfall also caused extensive damage to the Gambhir Mughalan road in Manjakote, disrupting connectivity and causing inconvenience to residents.
Men and machinery have been deployed at both locations to clear the debris and restore traffic, they said, adding that efforts are underway to reopen the affected roads at the earliest.
The authorities have advised commuters to avoid the affected routes until restoration work is completed and the roads are declared safe for traffic, the officials added.(NVI)
