Srinagar, Aug 16 (NVI):Former MP & State Minister, Tariq Hamid Karra has been appointed as the new Congress President for Jammu and Kashmir, marking a significant leadership change for the party in the region.

Karra, a seasoned politician with extensive experience in Jammu and Kashmir’s political landscape, is expected to bring a fresh perspective to the Congress’s strategies in the Union Territory.

This appointment comes at a crucial time for the Congress as it prepares to strengthen its position ahead of the upcoming assembly elections for which the schedule was announced on Friday.

Tariq Hamid Karra has previously held various key positions in Jammu and Kashmir politics including Finance Minister and member of parliament and his selection as Congress President reflects the party’s confidence in his ability to lead and unify its efforts in the region.

The Congress leadership has expressed optimism that under Karra’s guidance, the party will be able to regain its foothold and effectively represent the interests of the people of Jammu and Kashmir.

Congress has also appointed two working presidents that includes Shri Tara Chand and Shri Raman Bhalla.

Congress President has also appointed Shri Vikar Rasool Wani as Special Invitee, Congress Working Committee, with immediate effect and Tariq Hameed Karra has been relieved from his current position as Permanent invitee, Congress Working Committee.

The party has also appreciated the contributions of the outgoing PCC President, Vikar Rasool Wani. (News Vibes of India)
