Jammu, Sep 22 (NVI) Bhartiya Janata Party’s (BJP’s) national president JP Nadda today said that Centre’s biggest achievement in J&K on the front of tackling terrorism was that a “declared terrorist’s life span is not more than a week. He also said that J&K was witnessing record participation of people in polls despite “Pakistan’s pressure” which is being responded by the BJP leadership effectively.
Addressing the Intellectual Meet in Jammu, Nadda said that the Central has been able to bring peace in the region that was torn by the perpetual strife of 35 long years. “Today, survival of a terrorist is not more than a week. Once a person is declared as a terrorist, his survival is not more than a week. This the Centre’s biggest achievement in J&K on the front of tackling terrorism,” Nadda said.
He said that J&K was witnessing huge participation of people in the Assembly polls despite Pakistan’s pressure. “The BJP leadership is responding the Pakistan’s pressure effectively,” he said. Nadda while taking a jibe at National Conference and Congress, said he wonders how Pakistan’s defence minister Khawja Asif was openly claiming that his country was on the same page with NC and Congress on Article 370. “So are these parties (NC-Congress) Pakistan’s agents in Kashmir,” Nadda asked.
He said the ongoing elections in J&K are not confined to BJP but entire nation and the world. “We are giving the befitting reply to the enemies of peace and Pakistan’s proxies,” Nadda said. He said under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the dream of connecting Kashmir with the Kanyakumari with train will be fulfilled soon. “It was for the first time that G-20 was held in Srinagar and other parts of the country with New Delhi declaration,” Nadda said.
About Jammu, he said the region has seen a huge transformation. “Earlier, when I would visit Jammu, I would definitely get stuck in traffic jams at main chowk and at the statue of Maharja Hari Singh,” he said, adding that “today, there is a huge transformation. The traveller is taken by a surprise as to how he reaches his destination from the airport.”
He said that Congress had dumped the Chenab bridge file and it was Prime Minister Narendra Modi who worked on the project that was approved by the late Atal Bihari Vajpayee. “Today, we have the world’s highest rail bridge on Chenab river in Jammu,” he said.
Highlighting various developmental projects started in J&K over the past ten years, Nadda said that Congress also didn’t touch the Shahpur Kandi dam because of Pakistan’s fear. “Today, the dam stands constructed and farmers are benefitting from its waters,” he said. (News Vibes of India).
