New Delhi (NVI): Light scattered rains are expected to commence over the northern plains today due to a fresh Western Disturbance over Jammu and Kashmir.
These rains can be witnessed over the western parts of Punjab, Northwest Haryana and Northwest Rajasthan by today afternoon, according to SkymetWeather.
“Gradually, these rains will spread and cover almost entire Northern Plains. By tonight, it expect these rains to increase over Punjab, Haryana and North Rajasthan,” it said.
“Delhi might also receive start receiving rains by tonight,” it added.
Fursatganj in Uttar Pradesh is the coldest city in the plains of India, with its morning temperature settling at 9.7 degrees Celsius.
Ambikapur in Chhattisgarh recorded minimum temperature at 10.8 degrees Celsius.
Pendra Road in Chhattisgarh and Umaria in Madhya Pradesh both recorded minimum temperature at 11.4 degrees Celsius.
Rewa in Madhya Pradesh recorded minimum temperature at 11.5 degrees Celsius.
Gaya in Bihar and Khargone in Madhya Pradesh both recorded minimum temperature at 11.8 degrees Celsius.
Apart from this, Hardoi in Uttar Pradesh and Sidhi in Madhya Pradesh both shivers at 12 degrees Celsius.
Malanjkhand in Madhya Pradesh recorded minimum temperature at 12.3 degrees Celsius.
Meanwhile, Delhi and NCR region also saw a slight increase in minimum temperature to 16.7 degree Celsius from 13 degrees Celsius recorded yesterday.
The maximum temperature today is expected to be around 26 degrees celsius, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
The overall air quality in the national capital today is in “poor” category.
According to System of Air Quality and Weather Forecasting And Research (SAFAR), the Air Quality Index (AQI) in the national capital stood at 201 which falls in the “poor” category.
The IMD has said that no significant change is expected in the temperature over east and northwest India during next 24 hours.
The weatherman has forecast that in Central India there will be a rise in minimum temperature by 2 to 3 degrees during next two to three days.
“No significant change temperature is expected in rest of the country,” it added.
