Srinagar, July 10 (NVI):- Jammu and Kashmir National Conference leader & Former CM Omar Abdullah has criticized the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the wake of the Kathua terror attack, pointing out the BJP’s failure to deliver on its promise that abrogating Article 370 would bring peace to the region.
Abdullah as per News Vibes of India—(NVI) stated, They (BJP) were claiming that entire militancy is linked with Article 370 and after its abrogation, peace would prevail here. We continuously said that Article 370 had nothing to do with militancy and even if it is removed, there won’t be any effect on militancy. This has been proved now.
They (BJP) are being ignorant… the situation is worsening day by day. Who is responsible?
He emphasized the BJP’s responsibility for the current state of affairs, drawing a parallel to when the National Conference was in power and was blamed for such attacks.
“When we were in power, we used to be blamed for such attacks, so today, it is BJP that is responsible for these attacks,” Abdullah remarked.
Omar Abdullah also questioned the effectiveness of military actions like airstrikes in combating militancy. Referring to past incidents, he said, “Airstrikes were conducted earlier as well, but did the attacks stop? They exaggerated about Balakot strikes, but militancy didn’t stop.
If they can assure that by conducting airstrikes, they can free the whole J&K from militancy, then we are ready to listen. (News Vibes of India)
