Maha minister tests corona positive

New Delhi (NVI): Maharashtra Cabinet Minister Aslam Shaikh today tested positive for coronavirus, becoming the fourth top minister from the state to have contracted the deadly virus.

Shaikh, took to twitter to inform, “This is to inform that I’ve tested positive for COVID-19. I’m currently asymtomatic and isolating myself.” he tweeted.

He also request all those who have come in close contact with me to get themselves tested. “I will continue to work from home to serve the people of my state.”

Aslam Shaikh, the Cabinet Minister for Textiles, Port, Fisheries and also the Guardian Minister of Mumbai City.

Earlier, other ministers – Dhananjay Munde and Jitendra Awhad and Ashok Chavan had tested positive. However, all three were discharged after making a full recovery.

Maharashtra continues to remain the worst affected state in the country as tally crosses 3.1 lakh cases with over 10,690 deaths, as per Health Ministry data.
