New Delhi (NVI): Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister and NCP leader Ajit Pawar announced that he has tested positive for coronavirus.
Taking to Twitter, Pawar wrote, “My COVID-19 test has come out to be positive. As a precaution, I have gotten admitted to Breach Candy hospital on the advice of the doctors.”

“I request all citizens, workers, volunteers and leaders of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) and other parties not to worry. I am well and will return after resting for a while,” he tweeted in Marathi.
Earlier on Saturday, former Maharashtra Chief Minister and BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis tested positive for COVID-19.
Also, over a dozen Maharashtra ministers have tested coronavirus positive in last few months and recovered.
So far, Maharashtra had reported 16.4 lakh COVID-19 cases making it the worst-affected state in the country. While more than 43,000 people have died due to the virus, the state’s recovery rate stands at over 88 percent.
