Jammu, June 11 (NVI): A 25-year-old man was detained for questioning after he was allegedly found impersonating an Intelligence Bureau (IB) official and carrying a purported identity card of doubtful authenticity in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kathua district, officials said on Thursday.
A police said that the individual, identified as Ankush Sharma, a resident of Ward No. 6 in Kathua, had reportedly been presenting himself as an IB employee while assisting his father at a tea stall in the Sabzi Mandi area of the town.
Acting on specific information, officials took cognizance of the matter and questioned the suspect regarding the identity card allegedly in his possession. He was subsequently taken to the Joint Interrogation Centre (JIC) Nagri for verification and further investigation.
