Jammu, Apr 19 (NVI): A man in the custody of Uttar Pradesh Police was injured after he allegedly attempted to escape at Kishtwar Pather in Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday evening, Sources said.
The accused, identified as Mohd Azim, a resident of Wali Dhakar in Uttar Pradesh, was being brought from Srinagar for transit to his home state when he tried to flee from police custody around this evening, they said.
During the escape attempt, he jumped and sustained injuries. However, he was immediately overpowered and re-apprehended by the escorting police team.
The injured was shifted to Sub-District Hospital Banihal for treatment, they added.
