Man shot at in J&K’s Rajouri

Srinagar (NVI): Unidentified gunmen fired upon a political worker in Rajouri district on late Tuesday night.

Police sources said that unknown gunmen barged into the house of 36-year-old political worker and shot at him, leaving him critically injured.

The political worker who is believed to be affiliated with Jammu Kashmir Apni Party has been identified as Ranjit Singh, son of Prem Singh.

The incident occurred at Draj village of Kotranka area of Rajouri.

Officials said that the victim was immediately shifted to a nearby hospital where from doctors referred him to Government Medical College, Rajouri.

Hospital sources said that the victim is undergoing treatment and is stable.

However, Apni Party in Srinagar didn’t own the victim saying they don’t know anything about him.

Local sources said that it may be the case of political rivalry.

SSP Rajouri Chandan Kohli said that a case has been registered and investigation has been set into motion.
