Dehradun : On the occasion of World Book Day, Children’s author Mukesh Nautiyal interacted and narrated his story ‘Baago Wala Gaon’ to the children at the “Lekhak se Miliye” programme organised by the National Book Trust , India of Ministry of Education, Government of India.
Students from Kendriya Vidyalaya and NIVH Model School participated, according to Swati Badola, in-Charge, Uttarakhand of the NBT.
The story “Baago Wala Gaon” is the story of children living in the mountainous region of Uttarakhand who made friends with tiger cubs. One day when the forest department took the tigers back, the whole village and especially the children were highly disappointed.
Mukesh Nautiyal also answered questions of the children regarding the story – mode and explained the nuances of story-writing to them. Sixty children participated in the programme.
On this occasion, National Book Trust’s Uttarakhand in-charge Swati Badola said that National Book Trust is going to start a series of creative activities in Uttarakhand.
Post-pandemic, these events will give a creative environment to local litterateurs, readers and parents.
She said that NBT books would now be available at the National Book Trust Center at NIVH. Book lovers may visit and buy books of their choice on any working day.
