Adv. Ab Haq Khan rejoins PDP, Expected to Contest from Lolab constituency

Srinagar,Aug 20(NVI) : In a notable political development, former Minister Adv Ab Haq Khan has rejoined the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).

The reintegration ceremony, held in Srinagar, was attended by PDP President Mehbooba Mufti and Senior Vice President Ab Hamid Chaudhary, who extended a warm welcome to Khan. Mufti, confirmed his return to active role in PDP, ‘He never left the party, circumstances made him silent’, she added.

Khan, who served as a minister during the PDP-BJP coalition government, had stepped away from active politics recently. His return is viewed as a significant boost for the PDP, which is navigating complex political terrain in Jammu and Kashmir.

Mehbooba Mufti praised Khan’s return, highlighting his leadership and experience as crucial for the party’s efforts to address regional issues. She reaffirmed the PDP’s commitment to continuing the legacy of her late father, Mufti Mohammad Sayeed.

Senior Vice President Ab Hamid Chaudhary also commended Khan’s decision, noting the importance of his long-term association with the party. Khan is anticipated to run for elections from Lolab.
