New Delhi (NVI): The minimum temperature over northwest India is expected to increase gradually during the next 4 to 5 days, the Indian Metrological Department (IMD) said.
According to IMD’s weather bulletin, a fresh feeble western disturbance (WD) as a trough in mid and upper tropospheric westerlies, with its axis at 5.8 km above mean sea level.
“Under its influence, gradual rise by 2-4°C in minimum temperatures likely over Northwest India during next 4-5 days. Hence, no cold wave conditions will occur over these regions during this time,” it said.
The Met department also predicted isolated rainfall or snowfall over Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit-Baltistan, Muzaffarabad on February 9 and 10. Meanwhile, similar weather conditions are very likely in Himachal Pradesh on February 9 and over northern parts of Uttarakhand on February 9 and 10, it said.
The Met department added that low visibility conditions due to fog formation will be possible in northern Punjab. Also, dense fog in isolated pockets is very likely over Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi and West Uttar Pradesh in the morning hours of February 10.
Furthermore, parts of north-western India recorded dense to very dense fog this morning with the visibility dropping to zero at Amritsar in Punjab and Delhi’s Palam, IMD’s bulletein said.
