New Delhi (NVI): The minimum temperatures are likely to fall by 3 to 5 degrees Celsius over most parts of northwest India in the next four days, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said today.
According to the Met department, there will be no significant change in minimum temperatures over most parts of Central and East India during next 2-3 days and then fall by 2-4 degree Celsius thereafter.
IMD further said, “Dense fog in isolated pockets very likely over Jammu division, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh, northwest Rajasthan, northwest Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, Assam & Meghalaya and Tripura on December 14.”

During next 24 hours, cold day to severe cold day condition at a few places very likely over Punjab and cold day condition at isolated places very likely over Haryana and Chandigarh and northwest Rajasthan, it added.
The Met department also forecasts that under the influence of strengthening of the easterly wave, scattered to fairly widespread rain or thundershowers very likely over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry ans Karaikal, Kerala and Mahe and Lakshadweep area during December 16-18.
“Isolated heavy falls also very likely over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal during the same period of time,” IMD said.
Meanwhile, the national capital saw a massive fall in the mercury today, the weather agency said, adding that, Delhi recorded a minimum temperature of 8.4 degrees Celsius, down from 11.4 on Sunday and 14.4 on Saturday.
