New Delhi (NVI): Atrocities on minorities continue in Pakistan as in yet another case of religious persecution, a 15-year-old Hindu girl was kidnapped from Sindh province of the Muslim-majority nation recently and raped by a “political influential”, according to Human Rights Commission of Pakistan (HRCP).

The girl was kidnapped again for a second time after the rape and now her family fears that she will be converted to Islam forcefully.

The minor Hindu girl, identified as Rani Meghwar, was abducted from her Sarangyar village in Chachro taluka in Tharparkar district of Sindh province in southeast Pakistan, HRCP said in a tweet.

The girl was “allegedly” raped by a political influential and then released, but only to be abducted a second time, according to HRCP. When her father lodged an police complaint, he too was abducted.

“HRCP is horrified to learn that 15-year-old Rani Meghwar was abducted from her village of Sarangyar in Chachro, Tharparkar, and allegedly raped by a political influential. She was released and then abducted a second time,” the Pakistan Human Rights body said in a tweet yesterday.

“Her family is also worried that she may be forced to convert. After her father lodged an FIR, he too was abducted. The Sindh govt must investigate the case promptly & hold the perpetrators accountable, regardless of their political affiliation,” HRCP said in another tweet.

Religious persecution and abductions of Hindu girls in Pakistan continue in Imran Khan’s Pakistan. Earlier last month, a Hindu girl was kidnapped from Tando Jam area of Hyderabad city of the same Sindh province.

The girl, identified as Pooja was abducted on March 17 while returning home from work.
