Srinagar, Aug 16(NVI): With the announcement of J&K Assembly polls by the Election Commission of India (ECI), the Model Code of Conduct (MMC) has been imposed in the UT Jammu & Kashmir with immediate effect, officials said on Friday.
“All the provision of MCC will apply to the whole of Jammu and Kashmir with read to all candidates, political parties and government of the said UT/State,” the statement reads, adding that the commission has made elaborate arrangements for ensuring the effective implementation of MCC Guidelines. “Any violation of these guidelines would be strictly dealt with.”
Earlier, the ECI announced three-phased Assembly elections in J&K from September 18. October 4 will be the counting day and the election process will conclude on Oct 6.(News Vibes of India)
