New Delhi, Sept 13 (NVI) Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Kazakhstan President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev held a meeting here on ths sidelines of BRICS Summit and reviewed bilateral cooperation across energy, critical minerals, trade and connectivity.
The two leaders discussed a broad range of areas, including defence and security, emerging technologies, the creative economy and people-to-people ties.
They also exchanged views on regional and international developments.
The discussions come as India looks to strengthen economic and supply-chain partnerships around critical minerals and energy security.
Modi recalled India’s longstanding civilisational links with Kazakhstan and noted the steady expansion of bilateral relations in recent years.
The two sides reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthen their strategic partnership for mutual economic benefit and to promote peace, stability and development in the region.
Kazakhstan, Central Asia’s largest economy, is among the partner countries participating in the New Delhi BRICS Summit.
Its participation has also provided an opportunity for India to pursue closer economic cooperation with the region, particularly in connectivity, energy and critical minerals. (NVI)
