Srinagar: Security forces today achieved yet another success in Kashmir as they eliminated two more Pakistan-backed terrorists in an encounter, raising to 12 the number of terrorists killed in the valley in the last 4 days.
Today’s encounter took place in Shitipora area of Bijbehara in Anantnag district.
The encounter ended briefly with the killing of two local terrorists Ishfaq Ahmed Ganie and Yawar Ayub, both belonging to Hizbul Mujahideen outfit.
The two were involved in several terror crimes, IGP (Kashmir) Vijay Kumar said.
The operation today comes as part of a series of successes achieved by the security forces in anti-terror campaign in Kashmir in the recent days.
In these operations, 12 terrorists have been neutralised in the last 4 days, including 6 Pakistanis.
Yesterday, the security forces killed 4 Pakistan-supported terrorists, including the killers of TV artist Amreen Bhat, in 2 separate encounters in Kashmir.
In the last 5 months, security forces have killed 26 foreign terrorists.
