Poonch, Dec 31(NVI): A crucial step towards improving road connectivity has been taken with the handover of the Mughal Road stretch from Bufliaz to Pir Ki Gali to the Border Roads Organization (BRO) by the Public Works Department (PWD).

An official statement said that the transition, facilitated by District Development Commissioner Vikas Kundal, was completed with all necessary formalities.

The Deputy Commissioner of Poonch confirmed the successful handover and highlighted the significance of maintaining this key road stretch. He emphasized the need for the BRO to bolster infrastructure support, particularly during the winter months, to ensure smooth access for both civilian traffic and security forces operating in the region.

“The BRO has the necessary workforce, resources, and expertise to manage this stretch effectively, especially in challenging weather conditions and rough terrain,” the Deputy Commissioner noted.

This collaborative effort between the PWD and BRO aims to ensure that the Mughal Road remains safe, accessible, and operational throughout the winter season, benefiting local communities and enhancing the district’s strategic mobility.(News Vibes of India)
