Poonch, Oct 15 (NVI): The Mughal Road, which was closed temporarily following the season’s first snowfall, was reopened to vehicular traffic on Thursday after snow clearance operations were completed, officials said.
Snow clearance operations were undertaken to restore connectivity along the strategic road linking the Kashmir Valley with the Poonch-Rajouri region.
Sub-Inspector of Traffic Mughal Road Mahroof Choudhary said the snow clearance operation had been completed and the road had been made motorable.
Traffic has been restored on the route, but motorists have been advised to drive cautiously due to slippery road conditions, he said.
Authorities had deployed men and machinery after the snowfall subsided to ensure the early restoration of vehicular movement on the road, officials said.—(NVI)
