New Delhi (NVI): Tributes pour in from across the nation on the first death anniversary of former finance minister Arun Jaitley. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah were among the political leaders who remembered the veteran BJP leader.
Taking to twitter, PM Modi wrote, “On this day, last year, we lost Shri Arun Jaitley Ji. I miss my friend a lot. Arun Ji diligently served India. His wit, intellect, legal acumen and warm personality were legendary. Here is what I had said during a prayer meeting in his memory.”

The Prime Minister also shared a video of his speech during the prayer meet in her memory last year.
Home Minister Amit Shah said that Jaitley will always be remembered for his towering legacy.

On this day, last year, Arun Jaitley passed away at Delhi’s AIIMS, two weeks after he was hospitalised over complaints of breathlessness.
Jaitley was a key BJP leader. In 2009, the party appointed him as Leader of Opposition in the Rajya Sabha.
He served as the Finance Minister in the first Modi government and wore many hats in public life, from that of a lawyer to a politician and a cricket administrator.
Many other politicians like Railway Minister Piyush Goyal Minister of State for Road Transport & Highways V K Singh, Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb, MP B Y Raghavendra also remembered the veteran leader.
