New Delhi (NVI): Two days after a Delhi court issued death warrant against four convicts in 2012 Nirbhaya gangrape and murder case, two of them today filed curative petitions in the Supreme Court.
The pleas were filed by Vinay Sharma and Mukesh, who along with two other convicts — Akshay Kumar and Pawan Gupta — are scheduled to be hanged on January 22 at 7 am in Tihar Jail.
If their curative pleas are dismissed by the apex court, they still have the option to file mercy pleas before President Ram Nath Kovind.
Nirbhaya, a 23-year-old girl, was brutally raped and murdered on the night of December 16, 2012, in a south Delhi area.
