Srinagar, Nov 04(NVI): Referring to PDP MLA Waheed Para, who introduced a resolution on Article 370 on the first day of the J&K Assembly, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah stated that a single MLA’s private resolution holds no significance.

He acknowledged that most people in Jammu and Kashmir have not supported the changes made in 2019 and afterward. During a disruption in the assembly, Speaker Abdul Rahim Rather adjourned the House for 15 minutes.

The adjournment occurred amid a disturbance over PDP MLA Waheedur Rehman Para’s resolution opposing the revocation of Jammu and Kashmir’s special status and Article 370 by Parliament in 2019.

The BJP opposed the resolution, calling it “against rule.” Abdullah noted that all members would have the opportunity to present their resolutions after the Lieutenant Governor’s address.

The resolution by Para and the subsequent opposition from the BJP led to a significant uproar in the first session of the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly.                                    (News Vibes of India)
