Rajouri, July 26 (NVI): A rusted 51 mm mortar shell was recovered from the Kayan area of Rajdhani in Thanamandi tehsil of Rajouri district on Sunday, officials said.
They said the old mortar shell was spotted by locals, following which the Bomb Disposal Squad of the Army’s Rashtriya Rifles was alerted.
The squad reached the spot and safely destroyed the shell in a controlled operation, officials said.
No casualties or damage to property were reported in the incident, they added.(NVI)
