Omicron cases in India go up to 200

New Delhi: India registered 5,326 fresh Covid cases in the last 24 hours, which is the lowest single-day figure in 581 days, the Union Health Ministry said today.

Meanwhile, the total tally of the Omicron variant of Covid in the country has risen to 200.

Maharashtra and Delhi have detected the highest number of Omicron cases so far.

The total number of Omicron positive patients in the Maharashtra and Delhi are now 54, according to the Ministry.

The country recorded 453 Covid deaths during the last 24 hours, taking the cumulative death toll to 4,78,007.

The total active cases across the country now stand at 79,097, which is the lowest in 574 days, the Ministry said.

Around 8,043 patients have recovered in the last 24 hours, taking the cumulative tally of recovered patients to 3,41,95,060.

Yesterday, the country reported 6,563 fresh Covid cases and 132 fatalities in 24 hours.

A day prior to that, the country reported  7,081 fresh Covid cases and 264 fatalities in 24 hours.

During the previous 24 hours, the country reported 7,145 fresh Covid cases and 289 deaths.

The country reported 7,447 fresh Covid cases and 391 fatalities in 24 hours, a day earlier.
