Omicron cases in India rise to 1,270, Covid cases to 16,764

New Delhi: With 309 Omicron cases being reported in the last 24 hours, the total number of cases in India has increased to 1,270 and Covid cases have gone up to 16,764.

According to the Health Ministry, Maharashtra has recorded the highest number of Omicron cases followed by Delhi.

The total number of Omicron cases in Maharashtra has risen to 450 and Delhi to 320.

Meanwhile, the country reported 16,764 Covid cases and 220 fatalities in the last 24 hours, the Ministry said.

With this, the country’s active cases now stand at 91,361, while the cumulative death toll has gone up to 4,81,080.

Around 7,585 patients have recovered in the last 24 hours, taking the cumulative tally of recovered patients to 3,42,66,363.

The vaccination figure has reached 1,44,54,16,714 across the country with inoculating 66,65,290 beneficiaries in the last 24 hours, it said.

Yesterday, the country reported 13,154 Covid cases along with 268 fatalities and 961 Omicron variant cases in 24 hours.

The country reported 9,195 new Covid cases and 302 fatalities in 24 hours on Wednesday.

During the previous 24 hours, the country reported 6,358 fresh Covid cases and 293 deaths.

The country reported 6,531 fresh Covid cases and 315 fatalities in 24 hours, a day earlier.

A day prior to that, the country reported  6,987 fresh Covid cases and 422 Omicron variant cases in 24 hours.
