Peshawar: On the occasion of Pakistan’s Defence Day today, Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) ridiculed the country’s armed forces, saying they had faced “clear defeat or heavy loss of life and property” in all the wars with India and during internal conflicts but kept fooling the countrymen.

Calling the Pakistan Army as an “inherited” force, TTP said the force had done nothing but brought humiliation to the dear country, created political instability in the country, brought economic crisis, shot its people indiscriminately and forced them to migrate in millions.

It said the Pakistan Army, while cornering most of the national budget, enhances its “importance in the minds of the people” by remaining in a “state of war with the neighbouring countries” all the time.

Pakistan marks September 6 as National Defence Day in the context of 1965 war with India, which it pretends to have won.

“In the 17-day Indo-Pak war in September 1965, no side could clearly win the war, and finally, both the forces returned to their respective billets because of the timely intervention by the master (Britain),” TTP spokesman Muhammad Khurasani said in a statement.

“However, for 57 years now, Pakistan’s armed forces have been performing killings in front of the people of the country every year and fooling them every year in the name of Defense Day so that 80 percent of the country’s resources do not get out of hand,” he said.

“The fact is that all the wars (whether international or limited) that Pakistan’s forces have fought so far have resulted in either clear defeat or heavy loss of life and property despite their large numbers and resources,” the TTP spokesman said.

It said the armed forces of Pakistan, “in order to increase their self-importance in the minds of the people”, is always in a state of war with the neighbouring countries.

“Most of the percentage of the budget of the country is consumed by the army under different names,” Khurasani said.

“The Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan appeals to the people of Pakistan to recognize their friends and enemies and support those people in the ongoing battle of right and wrong in the country, who, by the grace of Allah Almighty, saved the nation from destruction and destruction,” the spokesman said.
