On Pakistan’s I-Day, TTP attacks ‘unholy’ military at many places, causes several casualties

Peshawar: As Pakistan was celebrating its Independence Day today, Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) stepped up its operations against the “unholy” military of the country, targeting it at many places and claiming to have killed and injured several soldiers.

In one such attack last night, TTP targeted an Army post in Sada district of Lower Kurram Agency with light and heavy weapons, according to its spokesman Muhammad Khurasani.

At least 5 Army personnel were killed and 2 were injured, he said, adding the Mujahideen completely conquered the post and seized weapons and ammunition, including 2 G3 guns, one LMG gun and a large quantity of bullets.

This morning, TTP fired 2 ballistic missiles at a military fort in Ladha District of Dera Ismail Khan in South Waziristan, Khurasani said, adding the Colonel’s office was hit in the attack.

No further details were available.

Khurasani said the TTP carried out two more attacks this morning in Badr district of Dera Ismail Khan in South Waziristan.

Both were mine blasts carried out in Sikandra Salle Roga, in which 2 Army personnel were killed and 5 injured, he said.

“On the occasion of August 14 (Pakistan’s Independence Day), the attacks on the unholy army and security institutions by the Mujahideen will continue until Pakistan achieves its real goal of La ilaha illa Allah,” the TTP spokesman said.

Earlier, last night, TTP attacked Khasukhel bridge front in Mir Ali district of Bannu Province, North Waziristan with heavy and light weapons, with a high possibility of casualties, he said.

Last night, attacks were carried out at three places in Peshawar province.

The first attack was carried out on a joint FC-Army cantonment in Shengarh area, while the second attack was carried out on Dam Army cantonment and the third on Hameed Khan Machin police station, Khurasani said.

There is a high possibility of casualties among Army FC and police personnel, he said.

Similarly, the Mujahideen attacked Peshawar’s Pirbala police station with laser guns, as a result of which the policemen fled leaving the police station empty, he said.

An attack on the Nala FC post in Bara district of Khyber Agency also resulted in injuries to 4 officials, he said.

TTP carried out 2 more attacks on the Kadma and Shemrai Sar Fronts of District Tiarza of District DI Khan, South Waziristan last night.

During the night, TTP also carried out a counter attack on the military with light and heavy weapons in Choptra area of ​​Wada Mamond district of Bajaur Agency, Malakand Province, in which there is a strong possibility of casualties, Khurasani said.
