One killed, Eight injured in an Accident in Kunjwani, Jammu

Jammu, Aug 31(NVI): A girl was killed and eight others were injured in a collision near the Bata Showroom in Kunjwani, Jammu.

An official told NVI that a  speeding matador collided with a car coming from the opposite direction and fell sideways resulting in the death of one young girl and injuries to eight others, who were immediately admitted to Government Medical College. He added that the deceased has been identified as Surbhi Kumari, 18, a resident of Jallo Chak Gangyal.

The injured were later identified as Saina, 16, daughter of Mohd Rafiq, resident of Kunjwani; Goutam Sharma, son of the late Manoj Kumar, resident of Chatha, age 25; Akesh Mohan, son of the late Tilak Raj Mohan, resident of Afgana Mohalla Panjtrithi, age 39; Muskan Sharma, daughter of Rohi Dass, resident of Ratnu Chak Jammu, age 16; Sarita, daughter of Upinder Ram, resident of Dhyansar Bari Brahmana, age 16; Nisha, daughter of Durga Swansi, resident of Dhyansar Bari Brahmana, age 16; Sumit Kumar, son of Mulkh Raj, resident of Doda, presently residing at Bari Brahmana; and Shivani, 14, daughter of Raj Kumar, resident of Kunjwani.

Moreover, the injured have been taken to a nearby hospital for treatment, while the authorities are investigating the cause of the collision.—(NVI)
