Intake of garlic and onion in Ayurveda
In Ayurveda, consumption of garlic and onion is considered very beneficial. According to Ayurveda, garlic and onion acts as natural blood purifiers. However, high intake is prohibited as onions are known as ‘tamasic’ and garlic is considered as ‘rajasic’.
But medical science does not believe so. According to medical science, garlic and onions are full of antioxidants, so they can be consumed huge amounts as well. Raw onion and garlic is more beneficial than ripe. Therefore, one can also intake them raw in the form of salad, chutney etc.
