New Delhi (NVI): Over 1.5 lakh Covid complaints have been resolved using the revised version of the Swachhata App, relaunched by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs in the wake of Covid-19 pandemic, to enable citizens to get their COVID-related complaints redressed by their respective Urban Local Bodies (ULBs).
Swachhata app 2.0 was launched soon after the first phase of the lockdown, with nine additional categories of complaints specific to COVID-19.
“Over 1.5 lakh COVID related complaints have been resolved on the App with a resolution rate of 87%,” the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs said in a statement.
The version 2.0 of the Swachhata App is intended to strengthen the services to be rendered to the citizens. According to MoHUA, the overall investment incurred in Urban Transformation from 2014 to 2021 is up by 627 per cent in comparison to 2004 to 2014.
An amount of INR 12 lakh crore has been invested for the upgrading of urban infrastructure and ease of living in comparison to a mere 1.5 lakh crore from 2004 to 2014.
Notably, the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs has remained at the forefront of managing Covid crisis across the country in a very diligent manner. The ministry utilised its pet project- Smart City Mission across the country in several states to monitor and manage the Covid crisis leveraging technology.
The Integrated Command and Control Centers (ICCC) in several smart cities were converted to Covid War-rooms in order to sync several departments dealing with Covid response, as per the Ministry.
