New Delhi (NVI): More than 15 lakh people have been inoculated with the coronavirus vaccine across the country with 1,46,598 beneficiaries getting vaccinated till 6 pm on day 8 of the vaccination drive, Union Health Ministry said today.
“A total of 15,37,190 beneficiaries (till 6 pm today) vaccinated through 27,776 sessions, as per the provisional report. 3,368 sessions were held till 6 pm today,” Dr Manohar Agnani, Additional Secretary, Health Ministry said while addressing a media briefing.
Meanwhile, as many as 123 cases of Adverse Effect After Vaccination (AEFI) have been reported till 6 pm today, he further added.
“A total of 11 persons have been hospitalised so far. 0.0007 per cent of people have recorded hospitalisation against vaccinations. In the last 24 hours, one person has been hospitalised at Government Hospital, Guntur, Andhra Pradesh who was vaccinated at January 20,” Agnani said.
In addition to this, a total of six deaths have been reported so far, however, none of these deaths has been causally linked with Covid-19 vaccination.
“In the last 24 hours, one person aged 56 years who was a resident of Gurugram, Haryana has died. The Post-mortem confirms that Cardio-pulmonary disease was the reason for her death and it was not related to vaccination,” the health ministry stated.
Furthermore, the Union Health Ministry said that the training of Immunization Programme Managers of 13 foreign countries (Bahrain, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Brazil, Maldives, Mauritius, Mongolia, Morocco, Myanmar, Nepal, Oman, Seychelles and Sri Lanka) using Indian Vaccines was conducted covering all aspects of vaccine roll-out spread over two days.
