Pak-born Muslim woman gets Indian citizenship

Poonch (NVI): A Pakistan-born Muslim woman, who has married a local here in Jammu and Kashmir, was today granted Indian citizenship.
Poonch District Development Commissioner Rahul Yadav handed over a Certificate of Registration granting Indian Citizenship to Khatija Praveen, wife of Mohammad Taj.
She was granted Indian Citizenship on the basis of marriage to an Indian under section 5(1) (c) of the Citizenship Act, 1955, an official statement said.
Khatija Praveen along with her husband expressed happiness and gratitude on receiving the Certificate of Registration from the Union Ministry of Home Affairs, it said.
