New Delhi, Apr 03 (NVI): The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has chargesheeted two accused, including Pakistan-based gangster Shehzad Bhatti, in connection with last year’s grenade attack on the residence of YouTuber Roger Sandhu in Punjab’s Jalandhar district.

The NIA, which took over the probe from Punjab Police in December 2025, has named Shehzad Bhatti as an absconder in a supplementary chargesheet filed before a special court. The second accused, Dipander Pratap Singh alias Deepan Rana, has been arrested in connection with the case (RC-22/2025/NIA/DLI).

Both accused have been booked under provisions of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, Explosive Substances Act, Arms Act, and the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023.

The case pertains to a grenade attack carried out in the early hours of March 16, 2025, at Sandhu’s residence in Raipur Rasoolpur village of Jalandhar. Punjab Police had initially registered the case and chargesheeted nine individuals during its investigation.

NIA investigations have revealed that Shehzad Bhatti orchestrated the attack from abroad as part of a broader terror conspiracy involving a network engaged in targeted killings, recruitment, and smuggling of arms and ammunition into India. He allegedly used encrypted communication channels to coordinate the attack.

Dipander Pratap Singh is said to have played a key role as a local facilitator, providing logistical support and handling illegal arms and explosives for the assailants.

So far, 10 accused have been arrested in the case, while seven, including Shehzad Bhatti, remain absconding. The agency said further investigations are underway to trace the absconders and dismantle the larger terror network linked to the attack.(NVI)
