Samba, Mar 25 (NVI): The Border Security Force (BSF) on Wednesday apprehended a Pakistani national identified as Abdul Hussain (68) along the International Border in Jammu and Kashmir’s Samba district, officials said.
According to officials, the individual was detained at around 1300 hours after he was found crossing into Indian territory under suspicious circumstances in the Samba sector.
Following his apprehension, the BSF carried out necessary questioning and completed all legal formalities in accordance with established procedures.
Later in the evening, the detained individual was handed over to the Pakistani Rangers as per the standard protocol, officials added.
Authorities have reiterated the importance of maintaining strict vigilance along the border to prevent unauthorized crossings while ensuring humanitarian considerations in such cases.(NVI)
