Punjab: Pak smuggler shot dead by BSF troops, arms, drugs recovered

New Delhi (NVI): The Border Security Force today neutralised a Pakistan smuggler at the border outpost (BOP) Kakkar near Punjab’s Amritsar and seized arms and drugs from the area.

The operation took place in the wee hours of Wednesday when the troops observed the movement of smugglers ahead of the fence with a pipe.

They immediately opened fire.

“Today at about 02:00 am, troops of 22 bn BSF, at BOP Kakkar, PS Lopoke ASR-R in alignment to BP no: 88/22 observed movement of 04 smugglers and at about 02:05 am again observed movement of 02 smugglers ahead of fence with pipe,” according to a statement.

Later, on searching the area, the troops recovered a dead body of the Pakistan smuggler ahead of the fence.

They also recovered 22 packets of heroin, 2 AK series weapons with 4 magazine,s and a pipe between irrigation canal and BS fence. The troops also found blood stains in Khal.
