Peshawar: Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) today said it killed at least 6 personnel of the Pakistani security establishment in multiple attacks since last night.
At least 4 Pakistani soldiers, including a Lance Naik, were killed when the TTP countered an attack by the army in Bannu district of North Waziristan today, its spokesman Muhammad Khurasani said.
In the fierce gunbattle, TTP lost one of its cadres Huzaifa Taqblaullah, he said.
In a separate incident, TTP today shot and killed ISI operative Dr. Fida Muhammad near Jangal Pir Alizai in Qila Abdullah area of Quetta, the main city of Balochistan, he said.
Last evening, the TTP, along with Lashkar-e-Islam Pakistan, carried out a joint operation on a camp of the paramilitary Frontier Corps (FC) located in Bara district of Khyber Agency, killing and injuring many personnel, the spokesman said.
TTP also attacked a military fort using a sniper in Manji Kali area of Gomal in Tank in Dera Ismail Khan, killing an army officer.
Afterwards, grenade launchers were fired at the fort, in which there is a strong possibility of more casualties, he said.
Meanwhile, Khurasani said TTP has nothing to do with the “tragic incident” related to the killing of 6 barbers in Mir Ali, who were found murdered in mysterious circumstances.
“Killing common people is against the principles, rules and regulations of Tehreek. So, we condemn the incident of killing innocent barbers,” he said, adding the murders are being falsely attributed to it to defame the organisation.
