Islamabad: A 28-year-old foreign woman, said to be hailing from Belgium, was tody found dumped here in a miserable condition after being allegedly raped for several days.
The woman was found by unidentified individuals in Sector G-6 area of Islamabad, lying with her face down and her hands tied behind her back.
She was in state of trauma when she was found by the locals who informed the police.
The woman told the police that she had been sexually assaulted over five days.
But she could not say where had been held.
Meanwhile, the Embassy of Belgium said in a post on X: “We’ve been informed of the tragic incident that took place today in ISB, involving a 28y.o. woman. At this stage, we have no confirmation that the victim is a Belgian citizen.”
It added that the consular section was monitoring the situation very closely and is in direct contact with the local authorities to facilitate the investigation.
“We however offer her our full support, and condemn this assault in the strongest possible terms,” it added.
