Kabul, Oct 26 (NVI) Pakistani has killed and injured 1,119 Afghan civilians in umpteen airstrikes since the beginning of the year 2022, according to the Taliban regime of Afghanistan.
Afghanistan’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson, Abdul Qahar Balkhi, has stated that most of the victims of these attacks were women and children.
In an interview with CNN, Balkhi said referred to the Pakistani military strike on the Omid Addiction Treatment Center in Kabul earlier this year and said hundreds of people were killed in the attack.
Airstrikes on the hospital on March 16 was the biggest hit by Pakistan on Afghanistan as 408 people were killed and 265 wounded, according to the Afghan government.
The hospital was a rehabilitation centre for drug addicts and over a 1000 people, including patients, doctors, paramedical staff and others, were present at the time of the airstrike.
That attack was carried out during the holy month of Ramzan
The Afghan Foreign Ministry spokesperson told CNN: “Instead of making baseless allegations, Pakistan should address its security problems through responsible engagement with its own people and genuine diplomacy with Afghanistan.”
Balkhi’s remarks come at a time when relations between the Taliban regime and Pakistan are extremely strained due to the latter’s repeated hostile cross-border acts.
The Taliban regime, which seized power in Kabul in August 2021, say that Pakistan is trying to cause destabilisation and disturbances in Afghanistan. It says Pakistan is hosting and using terrorist group ISIS-K for the purpose.
Border forces of the two neighbours have clashed several times during the last one year. (NVI)
