Pakistan kills 9 people, including women & children, in airstrikes in Afghanistan

Kabul, Oct 1: Pakistan has once again conducted airstrikes in Afghanistan, killing 9 people and injuring 11, including women and children.

The aerial attacks were carried out overnight in Helmand and Kunar provinces, hitting residential houses.

Hafiz Abdul Bari Rashid Helmandi, the Taliban’s Information and Culture chief in Helmand, said the attacks took place at around 3:30 am local time at three locations in the Safar area of Garmsir district of Helmand.

Two houses and an Eid prayer ground were hit, he said.

The strikes hit residential houses in Garmsir district, according to Mawlawi Sher Mohammad Wahdat, head of Helmand’s Information and Culture Department, Khaama press reported.

Taliban regime’s spokesperson Zabihullah Mujahid described the Pakistani action as “an aggression and crime in violation of all accepted principles”.

He said 9 people were killed, including children and women.

“Last night, Pakistani aircraft bombed civilian homes in Chugam, Shultan District of Kunar, and Safar, Garmser District of Helmand. Nine Afghan civilians, including women and children, were killed, 11 were injured, and three homes were destroyed,” he posted on X.

This is the latest among a series of airstrikes conducted by Pakistan in Afghanistan over several months. (NVI)
