Quetta: An operation by Pakistan’s Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) against Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) in Balochistan has failed miserably as 4 security personnel were killed and at least a dozen others were injured in the pushback.

Police and other security agencies carried out a raid on TTP in Kuchlak Tehsil of Quetta District at around 8 pm (Pakistan Time) last night, the outfit’s spokesman Muhammad Khurasani said.

“The Mujahideen fought back bravely and the gun battle went on for about 10 hours till 5 AM (today),” he added.

Khurasani, quoting “reports received”, said 4 police personnel — Ali Akbar, Faiz Mohammad, Muhammad Javed and Genghis Khan — were killed and around a dozen others were injured in the exchange of fire.

He said one TTP fighter Saifullah Ghazi was also martyred during the encounter.

The Police also confirmed the death of 4 personnel of the ATS in the exchange of fire during the operation.
