Jammu (NVI): Pakistani troops resorted to unprovoked firing with small and heavy weapons along Line of Control (LoC) in Shahpur, Kirni and Qasba sectors of Poonch district in Jammu and Kashmir, this evening, defence officials said.

Pakistan violated the ceasefire at around 6.50 pm, they said.

“At about 1850 hours, Pak initiated unprovoked ceasefire violation by firing with Small Arms & shelling with Mortars along LoC in Shahpur, Kirni & Qasba sectors in District Poonch (J&K),” they said, adding that the Indian Army gave a befitting response.
