Peshawar, Mar 7: Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) has announced the next phase of its armed campaign against the Pakistani military by the name of ‘Operation Khyber’.

The year-long ‘Operation Khyber” will succeed TTP’s one-year-old military campaign titled ‘Operation Al-Khandaq’, its spokesman Muhammad Khorasani said.

He said ‘Al-Khandaq’ has “concluded with many successes and the movement wishes to enter the next phase”.

The TTP leadership council chose the named ‘Operation Khyber’ considering “the current circumstances” and keeping in mind “the benefits and outcomes” of “decisive battles associated with the Prophet, he said.

The “second Khyber” has been decided upon in terms of conspiracies and against those described as agents of Zionist powers.

“The Battle of Khyber holds great significance in terms of its causes and consequences.

“Allah the Most Generous had already foretold and reassured the weak Muslims that in Khyber they would receive abundant spoils, and that because of the awe and strength of the Muslims, the Jews and their forces would not be able to inflict significant harm upon them,” the TTP spokesman said.

“Khyber was the final stronghold of the enemies of Islam—described here as the Jews—where they were constantly engaged in plotting and planning against the Muslims,” he said.

“From the Prophetic Biography it becomes clear that one of their most prominent schemes was to incite the Arab tribes to wage a decisive battle against the Muslims.

“However, all those conspiracies, with the help of Allah, proved to be like a spider’s web, and their plans were turned back upon themselves,” Khorasani said.

“In Khyber, the Jews took great pride in their power and strength. Because of this arrogance, they completely rejected the message of peace (negotiations) and believed that defeating and eliminating the weak Muslims would not be difficult.

“However, as a result of the battle, not only was their power shattered, but their military resources and their lush green orchards fell in large quantities as spoils to the weak Muslims,” he said.

“And the hopes of the hypocrites—who relied on the support of the Jews and expected the humiliation of the Muslims—were also crushed,” the TTP spokesman said in an apparent reference to the Pakistani military. (NVI)
