Jammu (NVI): Pakistani troops today initiated unprovoked ceasefire violation along the Line of Control (LoC) in Mankote sector of Poonch district in Jammu and Kashmir by firing with small arms and shelling with mortars, defence officials said.
The Pakistani army shelled the forward areas in Poonch at around 2.45 pm, they said, adding that the Indian Army was giving a befitting reply.
“On 02 Feb 2021, at about 1445 hours Pak initiated unprovoked ceasefire violation by firing with Small Arms & shelling with Mortars along LoC in Mankote sector, District Poonch (J&K). Indian Army retaliates befittingly,” the Army said in a statement.
Earlier in the day, Pakistani troops resorted to mortar shelling and small arms firing along the LoC in Krishna Ghati sector of Mendhar in Poonch district of J&K, defence officials said.
Yesterday, three of a family including two children were injured after Pakistan Army violated ceasefire in Mankote Sector of Poonch and resorted to intense shelling.
