Pakistani terror network now busted in Greece

Athens: Three Pakistani nationals were planning a terror attack at a Jewish centre here in Greece but their nefarious designs have been foiled due to a pre-emptive operation by security agencies here.

The Pakistani terrorists were preparing to target the Chabad in a busy downtown area of Athens during the Passover festival which began yesterday and will continue till April 11, according to officials.

Greek security officials, after being tipped off by Israeli intelligence agency Mossad, arrested the main conspirator Mohammad Mohsin Raza and his two associates over the last 10 days.

65-year-old Raza is a resident of Qom in Iran.

He works for the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corp (IRGC), who is recruiting young Pakistani nationals for carrying out attacks in behalf of Iranian intelligence, investigation by Greek officials found.

His arrested associates were identified as 29-year-old Hussein Abid and 27-year-old Irtaza Haider, both hailing from Sargodha in Pakistan.

One more Pakistani national, Syed Fakhar Abbas, has been identified as Raza’s collaborator in managing the network of Pakistani recruits working for IRGC.
