Jammu ,17 July (NVI) Panun Kashmir, an organisation of displaced Kashmiri Pandits, has hailed the recent statement by Jammu and Kashmir DGP R.R.Swain highlighting the critical role of internal political actors in bolstering terrorism and separatism within the region.
Dr. Ajay Chrungoo, Chairman of Panun Kashmir, emphasized that the DGP’s observations touch upon a bitter truth crucial to understanding and addressing the internal security challenges in Jammu and Kashmir.
“Internal subversion has been one of the foremost support structures of separatism and terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir,” said Dr. Chrungoo.
J&K DGP RR Swain had said, “Pakistan successfully infiltrated all important aspects of civil society, thanks to so-called mainstream or regional politics in the valley.”
“Political mainstream is the overground of terror. GoI protects & promotes it. That creates ecosystem of terror,” Dr Chrungoo shared on X.
He further pointed out that this subversion has deep roots within the political framework of Muslim communal identity politics, led by the National Conference and the PDP.
Dr. Chrungoo elaborated on how the ecosystem that fosters subversion allows terrorist separatists to exploit democratic domains and constitutional freedoms of India for their objectives.
He criticized the strategic thinking of the Government of India (GoI), which he believes grants nationalist credibility to “Halfway Separatism” in Jammu and Kashmir, thus transforming the state into a primary vehicle for denying the Hindu genocide perpetrated by terrorist separatism in the region.
He pointed out that influential figures within the GoI, who shape national policies on separatism, terrorism, and relations with Pakistan, have unwittingly laid the groundwork for the ecosystem that sustains separatism and terrorism.
According to Dr. Chrungoo, dismantling this ecosystem requires a fundamental shift in the GoI’s strategic thinking.
Dr. Chrungoo warned that the current strategic approach of the GoI, which denies the ideological basis of terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir, inadvertently leads to the denial of Hindu genocide.
This denial, he argued, undermines the expectations of the state’s citizens.
“The mindset that ensures the GoI promotes Halfway Separatism as a nationalist necessity also acts as the main vehicle for denying Hindu genocide,” he stated, adding that this approach diminishes the importance of the Indian state in relation to its patriotic citizens.
Commending the DGP’s efforts, Dr. Chrungoo acknowledged that by addressing the real underpinnings of separatism, Swain has fulfilled the foremost responsibility of an internal security officer in Jammu and Kashmir.
“Panun Kashmir lauds this effort as a critical step towards addressing the complex security dynamics of the region,” he said. (News Vibes of India)
