Srinagar (NVI): PDP youth leader Waheed-ur-Rehman Parra was today remanded in 15-day custody by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) in connection with his close links with Hizbul Mujahideen militant Naveed Babu and suspended Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Davinder Singh.

The PDP leader, who is also a close aide of party chief Mehbooba Mufti, was arrested Wednesday after NIA questioned him for two days at its New Delhi office.

Suspended DySP Davinder Singh was arrested earlier this year while ferrying two Hizb-ul-Mujahideen terrorists in a vehicle on the Srinagar-Jammu Highway.

Singh is accused of being hand in glove with militants. In past as well, NIA has questioned different persons in this connection.

Apart from Parra, Yasir Reshi was also questioned by NIA in the case. According to sources, more politicians are likely to be grilled in the coming days.

Waheed Para, a close aide of PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti, was on the radar of NIA for the past few months. His arrest also comes as a massive setback for PDP and Gupkar alliance before the District Development Council (DDC) polls.
