Srinagar,July 13(NVI) : The picturesque valley of Kashmir is alive with activity as the plum harvesting season begins, with farmers anticipating a bumper crop due to favorable weather and meticulous farming practices.
The orchards are bursting with ripe, juicy plums, attracting local and seasonal workers. This year’s yield is expected to surpass previous records, significantly boosting the local economy.
Farmers credit the promising yield to timely rains and effective pest management. Farmer highlighted the intensive labor involved, with workers toiling from 5 a.m. to 8 p.m. to ensure the fruit is ready for market distribution across the country.
The plum harvest is not only an agricultural event but also a cultural one, attracting tourists and fruit enthusiasts.
