PM greets Jharkhand on foundation day

New Delhi (NVI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi today greeted the people of Jharkhand on their statehood day. On the occasion, the Prime Minister paid tributes to tribal leader Birsa Munda on his birth anniversary.

He said that Munda’s contribution to the freedom movement and social harmony will always inspire the people.

Taking to Twitter, Modi said Munda was a true messiah for the poor and always fought for the deprived and disadvantaged sections of the society.

Munda was born on 15 November, 1875 in Ulihatu in Bengal Presidency (now in the Khunti district of Jharkhand).
